NSF 2024; Gov. Dapo Abiodun Inaugurates Local Organising Committee For Gateway Games.

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has inaugurated the 16-man Local Organising Committee of the 22nd National Sports Festival to be hosted by the state in 2024. Abiodun also noted that, the state is more than prepared to surpass previous editions and the achievements recorded during the last festival that was held by the state in 2006. Governor Dapo Abiodun who made this known during the inauguration of the Organising Committee of the National Sports Festival at the Executive Chambers of the Governor's Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, noted that, the state is ready to continue to put in place worldclass sporting infrastructures across the length and breadth of the state. Abiodun who stressed that the festival isn't about the competition or the performances, but to showcase the talent, culture, potential and the unique sense of hospitality of the people of the state. Chidera Ejuke Joins Belgian Champions Antwerp From CSKA Moscow.

Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke has joined Belgian Pro League champions Royal Antwerp on a year deal. Ejuke, according to reports underwent medical tests at the club on Saturday.  The 25-year-old becomes the Reds fifth signing this summer. His arrival increases the number of Nigerians at the club to four. Alhassan Yusuf, Victor Udoh and George Ilenikhena are already part of Antwerp’s first team. Ejuke spent last season on loan at German club, Hertha Berlin from Russian Premier League outfit, CSKA Moscow. Injuries slowed down his performance for the Capital club who were relegated from the Bundesliga at the end of the season.

Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Boniface from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise. A large number of Nigerian women long distance runners from across the country have been confirmed to compete at the Second Edition of the Ogun Women's Run which holds on Saturday, July 8, 2023. The Ben Akwuegbu Story: How He Was Discovered At 16 By Sebastian Brodericks

Born in Jos, Plateau state on the 3rd of November 1974, young Benedict Akwuegbu attended Fatimah Primary School, before going furthering his education at the prestigious St. Murumba's College, Jos. At St. Murumba's College, the young and talented Ben was active in sports and soon joined the School Football team at the age of 15, while still in form two.  A fortunate stroke of serendipity, however shone on young Benedict Akwuegbu, when the then National U-17 Football Head Coach, Sebastian Brodericks was on the stand, when St. Murumba's College played against Airfoce Military School, a game 16 year old Benedict Akwuegbu shone like  million star. Brodericks had won the first ever FIFA U-17 World Cup for Nigeria in 1985 and thought it was time to discover more talents for the 1989 edition.  Akwuegbu was selected to the U-17 World Cup Final squad in 1989 hosted by Scotland. However, he never had the chance to play as sitting on the bench in all four matches without substitution.
