NLO COO Ogunowo Becomes President NFF Staff Cooperative Society

Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Nationwide League One, Olushola Ogunnowo has been elected President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Staff Cooperative Society. Ogunnowo, whose integrity and work ethics speaks volume when it comes to administration of grassroot football in Nigeria, became the President of the society with a landslide victory at the polls on Thursday in Abuja.  The nation's third-tier domestic league administrative boss won the poll with 47 votes dusting former Secretary Nigeria National League (NNL), Ayo Rahaman to a distance second place as he pulled 15 votes. Danlamin Alanana who pulled seven votes came third on the list while Alizor Chucks finished fourth with five. Ogunnowo, who expressed his delight after the society's Electoral Committee announced him the winner, was full of praise to everyone who took in the process. Oshoala Launches Football Academy

Spanish Femini Barcelona striker Asisat Oshoala has announced the launch of her football academy in Nigeria in partnership with Nike Football and International Women Win. Oshoala had humble beginnings, starting her career at Mushin-based club Robo stars. However, she rose to recognition after her exploits at the 2014 Under-20 World Cup where she won the best player award. She then moved abroad a year later, joining English side Liverpool. Since then, Oshoala has never looked back. Team Bayelsa emerge champions of the 2022 Milo Basketball Championship

Team Bayelsa recorded a double at the 22nd edition of the Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos. Earlier in the day, St Jude’s Girls Secondary School Amarata, Bayelsa defeated Akpur Colleg, Benue 38-14 to win the girls final. Most Valuable player of the final, Abigail Isaac scored a double double, 12 points and 10 rebounds with four steals and two asissts to go with it. Angel Michael added 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals in 38 minutes. St Jude’s Girls gave their opponent from Benue no chance leading from start to finish as they could only score four points in the first half (4-20). WNFF/Taiwo Ogunjobi Memorial U-15 football competition gets kick-off date

The Main Organizing Committee of the Western Nigeria Football Forum/Taiwo Ogunjobi Memorial U-15 Football Competition has revealed that the tournament will be played between 16th - 21st August 2022.  The competition packaged by the Western Nigeria Football Forum led by the NFF 1st Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwumi will feature 6 teams from Southwest Nigeria - Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states U-15 boys teams and will be played in Osun State. Meanwhile a 7-man list has been drawn as the Local Organizing Committee of the  competition.  Osun State FA boss, Chief Razaq Ishola Mustapha will be the Chairman of the committee, Mr. Salami Tunde is the Vice Chairman, other members are Mr. Tunde Shansudeen, Prince Adeogun Isiaka, Mr. Tunde Adebiyi and Hon. Rawlings Oyebayo while Mr. Amoo Abayomi is the secretary.

Fouzi Lekjaa Re-elected As Moroccan FA President For A Third Term.

 The Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s (FRMF) electoral commission announced on Tuesday that it received a single candidacy -- Fouzi Lekjaa’s --  for the presidency of the federation’s steering committee. “After reviewing Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa’s candidacy file, the commission can confirm that he meets all the regulatory requirements,” a statement on the federation’s website says. Lekjaa will take on a third consecutive term as head of the federation on June 24, when the next electoral general assembly is scheduled. Regulations also allow Lekjaa to bring five members on board with him, whom he can designate as he sees fit. The FRMF’s federal office will consist of the president, league representatives, referee representatives, and representatives of old players, as per internal regulations. Lekjaa will oversee the national squad’s preparations ahead of the 2022 World Cup taking place in Qatar this November. His tenure has seen a lot of tensions over the past year. Former Bayelsa Queens forward, Rofiat Sule has won the Serie 'C' Coppa Italia title with her Club, Vicenza Calcio Femminile.    The young forward was instrumental to her sides recent victory after scoring a hat-trick in the quarter final game against A.S.D Calcio Femminile Chieti, enroute the final, where they defeated Ternana Calcio Femminile, by one goal to nil.  In a chat with Sportsgignews.com, the Lagos-born forward was elated and hailed her teammates and coaches for making the feat possible.  "I am very happy for this title.
