FUTSAL Lagos League To Kick Off In January 2023.

An exhibition match charting the history of FUTSAL in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole was centre staged in a packed NIS Gymnasium at the National Stadium Surulere Lagos on Saturday the 31st of December 2022.  The Futsal Lagos Exhibition Game traces the journey of the indoor round leather game as it is expected to open doors to the first ever FUTSAL League competition in the country. WLB Sports Limited Set For First Futsal Lagos Exhibition Game.

All is set for the first ever official Futsal Exhibition game in the Country, as WLB Sports Limited is ready to entertain Lagosians and Nigerians as a whole on Saturday, the 31st of December 2022 at the National Stadium, Surulere.  The exhibition game, initially billed to hold at the indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, has now been moved to the NIS Gymnasium, National Stadium, Surulere.  The Sports Agency, WLB, which was founded in 2022 is aimed at promoting Nigerian excellence through sports and also to make FUTSAL, the number one Indoor sports in the country.  The exhibition game on Saturday is termed at heralding a professional FUTSAL league season, which will kick off in 2023, across the city of Lagos.  Speaking about the event, the Chief Operating Officer of FUTSAL Lagos, Bolaji Animashaun said that the exhibition game is just a test and awareness towards plans for the maiden edition of the FUTSAL Lagos League.  Animashaun also stated that the exhibition game will gi

The 2022/2023 Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup Round of 16 came to an emphatic end, with Egbedore United thrashing Aiyedire United 3-0 in the final pre-quarterfinal match held at the Osogbo City Stadium on Wednesday.  The tournament brought together 32 Football teams from all parts of Osun State and produced no shortage of records and eventful stats.  Here we look at some of the stats in the round of 16, as we head into the last Quarter Finals of the tournament. The eight (8) teams through to the Quarter Finals are Osun FA Team, Odo-Otin United, Orolu United, Ila FC, Ilesa East FC, Atakumosa East FC, Egbedore United and Ede South FC.  There have been forty-one (41) goals scored in twenty four (24) matches played so far at the tournament, an average of 1.7 goals per game. Otunba Isiaka Adeleke Memorial Cup: Atakumosa East Reach Last 8 as Olowe's Nets Hat-trick.

Atakumosa East FC were the second team to progress to the last eight in the boxing day fixture of the Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup after beating Ife South by three goals to nil.  Ojo Olowe was the hero of the day, as the young player netted the first hat-trick of the Competition, scoring in the 21st, 38th and 63rd Minute of the game respectively. Also on Monday, Ilesa East booked their place in the Quarter Finals, after overcoming Ife East via penalties.  The game was destined to end in a draw, as both sides kept missing golden chances to take the lead, however it was the Ilesa team that got victorious 4-3 via penalties. The last phase of the Round of 16 will take place on Wednesday, the 28th of December at the Osogbo City Stadium. Iwo United, will take on Ede South It's by 10am, while Ayedire It's and Egbedore United will trade tackle for a place in the Quarter Finals by 12pm. Lord Mark Football Club of Warri has emerged champions of the 2nd Victor Ikpeba Football Challenge Warri 2020, after defeating Justice Fc of Warri 2-0 in the grand finale played at the Army Day Secondary  School, Effurum, Warri.  Lord Mark FC victory came from the two goals scored by Jeffery Okiri and Vwegba Okiki. Their goals made the difference, as Justice Fc could not find the net of their opponents. Lord Mark Fc went home with the Champions prize money of N150,000, a gold trophy and gold medals. For placing second place, Justice Fc of Warri, cashed in the sum of N100,000, while the Third Place team, Sporting Fc of Warri defeated Champions Cathedral Football, to win the third position 3-1.  Sporting Fc winning goals were scored by Ajaru Kemutie who netted the first and the third goals.  While Sporting Fc second goal was scored by Goodluck Okere. The Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup continued on Monday, as Osun F.A team became the first team to qualify for the Quarter Finals. The Osogbo based team defeated their opponent, Oriade United FC, by 1-0, courtesy of a goal scored by Adebayo Tosin in the 78th Minute of the encounter.  Odo-Otin Utd FC also sealed their place in the  Quarter Finals after an enthralling encounter with their counterpart, Olorunda Utd.  Olorunda Utd started out well, but failed to convert their chances early on, thereby leading to Odo-Otin Utd scoring twice in the space of fifteen minutes, through Moshood Olaniyan and Joseph Afolabi in the 59th and 74th minutes respectively, after which Sodiq Alabi scored a consolation goal in the 79th minutes as the game ended 2-1 in favour of Odo-Otin Utd.  Round of 16 matches will continue on Friday, the 23rd of December at the Osogbo City Stadium. All is set for the 2022 Edition of the Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation Mini-Tournament, which will kick off on Friday, the 23rd of December, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, by 2pm.  The 'Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation Mini-Tournament' is a charity event initiated by the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) Chairman and former NFF First Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi.  This year's event is the ninth edition and a special one, because it is in commemoration with the 60th Birthday celebration of the initiator, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi and tagged 'The 60 For 60 Edition'. The round of 32 games of the 2022/2023 edition of the Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup is over and sixteen teams will battle it out for eight quarter final spots, starting from Monday, the 19th of December. Last year finalist, Egbedore FC will be looking at getting into the finals again this year, and were lucky not to have been knocked out by Ogiyan FC, Ejigbo, as they progressed 4-3 via penalties.   Defending Champions  Ede City Boys beat Ede United by 3-2, in an enthralling derby game, played at the Agboran School Of Science Football Pitch.   The first unexpected twist was the early exit of Osogbo United. The more experienced side fell to neighbours Olorunda Utd in the Round of 32.
