Shooting Stars got their Ogunjobi Gold Cup campaign off in a flying start after they came from behind to beat FC Ebedei 3-1 on Matchday One of the pre-season tournament. It was a game of two halves as the Oluyole Warriors scored three second half goals after the Oliseh Boys had got fans talking inside the FC Ebedie Stadium, taking the lead in the 20th minute courtesy of a brilliant strike from  Moses Obule. The newly promoted Nigerian Professional Football League(NPFL) side then took the game to the rookies but were twice denied a goal by goalkeeper Mark Ugboh.   The 2021 Flying Officers Cup has now reached the Semi-finals stage. Four teams are two matches away from winning the biggest Women Football Pre-season Championship in Africa. Confluence Queens, Osun Babes, FC Robo Queens and Edo Queens will compete for a spot in the final, which will be shown live on TV. Flying Officers Cup 21: Teams To Undergo Compulsory Covid-19 Test On Arrival.

Organisers have announced that players and officials of all the sixteen (16) participating at the 2021 Flying Officers Cup are to undergo the compulsory Covid-19 test before the tournament kicks off on Sunday, the 10th of October 2021.  In order to facilitate swift testing of all players, the Ratels Sports Development Foundation (RSDF) has entered a partnership with the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC), for the teams to undergo their COVID-19 test on arrival at the Public Service Institute Of Nigeria (PSIN), Abuja.  Furthermore, players and officials of teams who are interested in getting vaccinated are to indicate while registering on the registration portal, which will open on wednesday, the 6th of October on the Tournament's website, Www.FlyingOfficersCup.com.   The female football final of the ongoing Osun Sports Festival (OSF) will hold tomorrow Wednesday, October 6 between Olorunda and Ede North. Both teams forced their way through to the final by defeating their semi final opponents on Tuesday at the Ebunoluwa International School, Ofatedo. While Ede North claimed a resounding 2-1 win over Odo Otin with goals from Bunmi David and Ajibola Mariam and a consolidation by Chris Amaka of Odo Otin, Olorunda landed in the final via 4-3 penalty shootout victory after the regulation time ended goalless. Tomorrow's female final, which will kick off 12pm will be a tough encounter as the two sides parade quality players from the grassroot. In the meantime, the male's losers' final will take place tomorrow between Orolu and Odo Otin.
