Flying Officers Cup 2021: Barrister Paul Edeh Inaugurates Organising Committee.  The President of Ratels Sports Foundation, Barrister Paul Edeh on Thursday inaugurated the organising committee for the third Edition of the Flying Officers Cup billed to hold in Abuja from the 22nd of September to 1st October 2021.  The constituted committee which was set up to oversee the planning, organisation and success of the biggest Pre-Season Championship in Africa consists of nine members, with Dr. Victoria Nlemigbo as General Coordinator, others include Moses Bako (Head of Awards Committee), Olayinka Olawole (Secretary), Grace John (Treasurer), Promise Uwaeme, Oluchi Tobe-chukwu, Faith Oluchi Meremegbunam, Segun Akeusola and Wendy Mbanefo Performing the inauguration through a Zoom Meeting on Thursday evening, Ambassador Barrister Paul Edeh in his speech said the Committee was formed with a view of organising a befiting and colourful women football fiesta.  "As part of our commitment...

  Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State on Tuesday unveiled Osun Sports Festival. Speaking on behalf of the governor at a press conference in Osogbo,  the state capital,  Osun Commissioner for  Youths and Sports Festival, Mr Yemi Lawal revealed  that the state had concluded plans to hold Osun Sports Festival(OSF),  a 31-sporting-activity designed to positively channel the energy of youths in the state. The festival would also be used to identify budding talents with the aim of nurturing them to stardom. Addressing a press conference at the state secretariat on to herald the sports festival,  the Commissioner stressed that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola believed in the  talents of Osun youths and saw a the need to channel their energy towards the development of the sports in the state. Bayelsa Queens have reportedly entered the race to sign highly rated Naija Ratels defender, Paulina Ali, with the teenage centre-back also on the radars of Edo Queens, Rivers Angels and Nasarawa Amazons.  Having come through the ranks at FaithHill FC, Ali burst onto the scenes last year, playing a significant role in the Ratels roller coaster journey at the 2020 Flying Officers Cup in Abuja, where she led her team to victories against Kaduna Queens, Royal Queens and draws against Nasarawa Amazons and Edo Queens in the semifinal and third place games respectively. Pillar of Sports in Africa and Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Kalu has congratulated Nigerians on the victory of Enyimba Football Club (FC)  of Nigeria against Orlando Pirates of South Africa  in the final Group A match in the confederation of Africa Football  (CAF) tournament. Kalu commended the players and officials of the football club for their skills. Recall, during Kalu's stint as Governor of Abia state, Enyimba FC was repositioned, with the team clinching the CAF cup back to back in 2003 and 2004. The Senate Chief Whip, who is also a soccer enthusiast, stressed that football brings people together and ultimately promotes peace and unity.
