The 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup groups took final shape with the draw on Friday. India were drawn in Group A alongside USA, Morocco and Brazil. The Nigerian National U-17 Women Team, Flamingos were drawn in Group B against Germany, Chile and New Zealand.  The opening match of the tournament will be India vs USA in Bhubaneswar on October 11.  Top two teams from the four groups will go through to the quarterfinals. Super Falcons Head Coach, Randy Waldrum has rated NWFL Premiership Champions, Bayelsa Queens high, after both sides played out a 1-1 draw in Abuja on Thursday.  Waldrum, was named Super Falcons Manager in 2020 and has since made a meaningful impact in the way the team has been playing.  Bayelsa Queens Aderemi Mary scored for the Prosperity Girls in the 16 minutes of play, the goal came as a result of their high pressing which caused the Super Falcons defence into mistakes. Nigeria forward, Victor Mbaoma has completed his transfer from Enyimba FC to Algerian Club Mouloudia Club D'Algier on a two-year deal (free transfer). Mbaoma scored 16 times this season in the Nigerian Professional Football League and was recently called up to the senior National team, Super Eagles. The experienced forward has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2024 with an option to extend. The former Remo Stars Captain has been so consistent in the league, for the past five seasons and has played for Remo Stars, Akwa United and Enyimba in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Edo state sports commission has declared readiness to host athletes from across the country for their trials for the 2022 commonwealth games Birmingham 2022. Permanent Secretary Edo state Sports commission Mrs Sabina Chikere while speaking with newsmen in Benin on the preparedness of the state acknowledged that the state has long been prepared to lead the country in sports with world class equipments put in place by the Godwin Obaseki's administration.  Mrs Chikere noted that "we have the latest equipment here at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium. Look at our tartan track, it is the latest, and the best in west Africa currently. The Ministry of Sports knows that to get the best from our athletes in the commonwealth games, they must use world class facilities in selecting them, and that is what we offer in Edo.
