Nigeria National U-17 Women's team, Flamingos Head Coach, Bankole Olowookere on Friday, 26th of July 2024 laid his mother to rest at Aaye, Orin-Odo in Ikole Ekiti Local Government Area of Ekiti State .  Late Princess Deborah Olugbolaro Olowookere died in May, after a brief illness at the age of 87 and was given a well deserved farewell by her Children and loved ones.  With eminent individuals, friends and well-wishers from the Football World in attendance, Bankole Olowookere and his siblings ensured that the matriarch's obsequies remains a much talked-about event for a long time to come .  The three-day funeral ceremonies, kick-started with a Christian Wake-keep on Wednesday with loved ones producing spirited eulogies and celebration of 'Mama Onisu' as she was fondly called during her time.  A day after, a novelty match, organised by the Coaches Association of Ekiti State, was played at at the Ikole Ekiti Football Pitch, where Bankole Olowookere was rewarded with a spec

Lanreleke Sports Academy Graduates 60 Students

It will be glitz and glamour as the Lanreleke Sports Academy, Ileogbo will host its first graduation event to celebrate The Peculiar Class of 2024 on Friday, July 26th at the School Pavilion by 11:30 am. The co-educational, fully residential and specialist senior secondary school, which was founded in 2021, will be graduating 60 students after spending three years in the school. Chief Justice Of Nigeria Sports Competition Set To Hold In September - NASAJ President, Emeka Ndili

The President of National Sports Association for Judiciary, Mr. Emeka Ndili has stated that the annual Chief Justice of Nigeria Sports Competition will hold in September.  In a press release made available to newsmen in Abuja, the National President stated that four states are currently bidding to host the CJN Sports Festival, the States are namely Rivers, Ebonyi, Delta and Kano State.  Ndili however warned intending participating courts and other judicial bodies to full in only staff of the court, stating that war on mercenaries is going to be intensified at this year's CJN games.  He finally noted that that National Exco will meet at a later date to choose the best state for the host, after inspection of the various sporting facilities of the potential host states.

Gasau Hails Engineer Adeleke, Future Eagles To Camp At Lanreleke Sports Academy

NFF President Ibrahim Gasau has poured encomiums on Engineer Lanre Adeleke, as he informed that the national U-15 male team tagged Future Eagles and its female counterpart will be camping at the Lanreleke Sports Academy in Ileogbo.  Lanreleke Sports Academy was founded in 2021 and is a co-educational facility, fully residential and specialist Senior Secondary School.  The nation's apex football egg-head who was on a working visit to Osun State, had a first-hand assessment of the level of football development in the state and also saw the sports facilities put in place by the government and private individuals.  Gasau was led by the Osun State Football Association boss Sola Fanawopo to the Lanreleke Sports Academy in Ileogbo,  Gasau who didn't hide his delight after seeing the state-of-the-art facilities at the Lanreleke Sports Academy said.  "Let me start by applauding the vision of Engineer Lanre Adeleke, this is a huge investment towards developing the youths in Ileogbo.

I am delighted to be in Osun State, the home of grassroots football. With over 400 grassroots football clubs affiliated with Osun FA, over 400 grassroots coaches, 13 referee societies, and over 15 independent grassroots leagues, Osun is truly the home of grassroots football in Nigeria.   I learned that 32 grassroots football clubs participated in the SmartCity Osun State Football League. I also learned that 8 female clubs have registered for the Osun Women’s Football League which is scheduled to kick off on August 30th.   Grassroots football must remain the foundation of our football. Football Good - Nigeria #EmpowerHer - An initiative of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that seeks to use the power of football to promote the wellbeing, welfare, reformation, rehabilitation and integration of female inmates through football had received a huge acceptance by the Minister of Interior, Hon (Dr) Olubunmi Ojo.  In a short, but highly impressive presentation, made by Aisha Falode, NFF Executive Committee Member and Chairman of the Women's Football Sub-Committee, she highlighted the importance of using football as a tool to transform the narrative, using it as a landmark for gender empowerment and rehabilitation initiative at Correctional facilities in Nigeria.  The Minister applauded the NFF for the noble concept, and vowed to set machinery in motion to ensure the realization of the objectives attached to the initiative.   “I am hugely impressed by this presentation, which shows clearly that the NFF is aware of its responsibilities to the community, aside from prep
