Organizers Gear Up For Exciting Taiwo Ogunjobi Memorial U-15 Tourney



The stage is set for the maiden edition of the Western Nigeria Football Forum/Late Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi Memorial U-15 Football Tournament and Award ceremony. 



The football competition starts Tuesday with the arrival of all participating teams from each state of the South West.


The teams from the South West states will be joined to fight for honours by the winner and runners-up in the NPFL/La Liga U15 national championships; Remo Stars and Katsina United U15 teams.


Secretary of the Main Organizing Committee(MOC) Sola Ogunnowo in a chat with the WNFF/Ogunjobi Cup Media disclosed that fixtures for the week-long football fiesta will hold Tuesday at the NYSC Camp, Ede which serves as a matching venue as well as accommodation ground for the participating team.



Ogunnowo in his words; "The Main Organizing Committee (MOC) and the Local Organizing Committee of the tournament have concluded all arrangements to have a hitch-free tournament in honour of late NFF Secretary and former Chairman of Osun State Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi. We have put in place adequate security, welfare and medical arrangements in place".


He added, "The draws for the tournament will hold Tuesday at the NYSC Camp which is also the match venue when all teams and their officials arrive in Osogbo," he said.


It will be recalled that notable sports administrators especially in football in South West will be honoured on the evening of the final billed for 21st August at Adebimpe Event Centre, opposite the Osogbo Township Stadium.


They are; the Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare; Chairman Remo Stars and CEO Bet9ja, Mr Kunle Soname, Chief Adebutu Kessington, His Excellency Ambassador Omolade Oluwateru, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, Hon. Alhaja Ayo Omidiran, Princess Bola Jegede, Chief Segun Odegbami, Mr Yemi Idowu and President General Nigeria Football Supporters Club Dr Rafiu Ladipo.
