Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup: Initiator Bamidele Salam Presents Set Of Jerseys To Quarter-Finalists.

Initiator of the yearly Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup, Rep Bamidele Salam on Thursday, presented set of jerseys each to the eight Quarter-Finalists of the ongoing tournament.

The House Of Representative Member, representing the good people of Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore an Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State presented the set of jerseys to the Chairman of the organising Committee Oladele Bamiji, who is expected to hand it over to the eight club sides.

The Charismatic House of Representatives Member commended the uprightness of all the teams that participated in the competition, particularly, the Quarter-Finalists, who have shown great level of Sportsmanship, doggedness, and commitment all through the competition.

While congratulating the eight teams on behalf of the other members of the organising committee, the Organising committee Chairman, Oladele Bamiji (HOB) noted that, the initiator of the Competition, Rep Bamidele Salam has deemed it fit to continue presenting set of jerseys to the last eight teams, since the inception of the  Competition, three years ago. 

HOB as he is popularly called enjoined the last eight teams to stay away from any form of indiscipline and imbibe the spirit of Sportsmanship as the Competition progresses. 


"Our plan every year is to make the Competition bigger, and thankfully, this year, we have moved from just one federal constituency, to all parts of the state. 


"Also, from the inception of this competition, we have been presenting set of jerseys to the last eight teams, this has become a tradition and am sure the teams will really appreciate this."


The eight teams that qualified for the last eight of the 2022/2023 Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup are Osun FA Team, Orolu Utd, Ede South FC, Ilesa East United, Odo-Otin Utd, Ila United, Egbedore United and Atakumosa East FC.


The Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Cup Football Competition was initiated by Honourable Bamidele Salam in the year 2020, to immortalize the selfless, philanthropic services of the first civilian Governor of Osun State, who was a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and an astute Politician when he was alive.


The third edition of the Competition has being expanded to involve selected Football Clubs from the 30 Local Governments in Osun State and the Ife East Area Office.


Adeleke Dynasty FC & Eyiowuawi FC are the past winners of the prestigious Memorial Football Championship.

Gasau Hails Engineer Adeleke, Future Eagles To Camp At Lanreleke Sports Academy

NFF President Ibrahim Gasau has poured encomiums on Engineer Lanre Adeleke, as he informed that the national U-15 male team tagged Future Eagles and its female counterpart will be camping at the Lanreleke Sports Academy in Ileogbo.  Lanreleke Sports Academy was founded in 2021 and is a co-educational facility, fully residential and specialist Senior Secondary School.  The nation's apex football egg-head who was on a working visit to Osun State, had a first-hand assessment of the level of football development in the state and also saw the sports facilities put in place by the government and private individuals.  Gasau was led by the Osun State Football Association boss Sola Fanawopo to the Lanreleke Sports Academy in Ileogbo,  Gasau who didn't hide his delight after seeing the state-of-the-art facilities at the Lanreleke Sports Academy said.  "Let me start by applauding the vision of Engineer Lanre Adeleke, this is a huge investment towards developing the youths in Ileogbo.

Thirty Clubs Register For Osun State Football League 23/24 Season

30 football clubs have been cleared by the Osun State Football Association to participate in the Osun State Football League, 23/24 Season, scheduled to kick off in the first quarters of 2024.  In a press statement issued by Mr. Amoo Abayomi, the Secretary of Osun FA, the clubs have been placed into four groups to minimize traveling and by the participating clubs.  He disclosed that the football association will announce the venues to host the four groups as soon as possible. “Security of players, good playing pitches, and television-friendly grounds are some of the variables that will determine the selections of the venues,” the Amoo further explained.
