Osun Governors Cup Begins Amid Much Fanfare As Fakunle Comprehensive High School And Ataoja School Of Science Win Opening Games.


Sports enthusiasts throughout Osun State celebrated the commencement of the Osun Governor's Cup 2024, marked by robust participation and stellar performances.



The Osun Governor's Cup 2024, a football tournament for secondary school students in Osun State sponsored by Peculiar Ultimate Concerns, kicked off on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Ataoja School Of Science Football Pitch. 

Ataoja School of Science faced off against Orolu Community High School in the day's inaugural match, with Peter Oyeniran of Ataoja School of Science securing a hat trick in a resounding 4-1 victory.

The students of Ataoja School of Science were brimming with excitement following their school's triumph in the competition.

In the second match of the day, Fakunle Comprehensive High School dominated Ilobu Grammar School with a 4-0 win, led by Toheeb Salami's brace, and contributions from Wahab Timilehin & Amosun Ramadan, who each scored a goal.

The grassroots development initiatives in Osun State received widespread appreciation from sports lovers and stakeholders, who praised the sponsors and advocated for continued support to nurture young talent.


The Osun Schools Sports Governors Cup, spanning across the state, aims to unearth gifted footballers among the student population.
